I don't understand why we need the middleware file — can you explain what it does?
Great question! In this lesson, the middleware runs before every page load and checks if you have a valid session cookie. Think of it as the bouncer at the door — without it, anyone could visit /learn even if they're not logged in.
It also refreshes your auth token automatically so you don't get logged out mid-lesson.
